Abstract. While reflecting on A.S.Pushkin fairy tales, the author convincingly shows that they reflect the Russian poetic element, which preserved for centuries people moral values of the people, their ethical philosophy and national moral principles.

New reading of an old book.
Review of the book by E.Y.Poltavets “A.S.Pushkin’s novel “The Captain’s Daughter ”, 2nd edition, revised and amended. Series: Rereading the classics (M.: Publishing House of Moscow State University, 2018. — 168 p.)
Abstract. Corrected and completed second edition of E.Y.Poltavets’ book “A.S.Pushkin’s novel “The captain’s daughter” is presented in the review. The monograph presents a new reading of the textbook which allows the author to confirm the thesis that Pushkin creates historiosophical novel, in which he considers not only the theme of Russian riot but also puts forward such issues as private person and power, humanity and statehood. Elena Poltavets looks at “The captain’s daughter” through the prism of fabulous-mythological and Biblical motives, analyses the system of codes. The book is full of deep observаtions, unexpected mythopoetic analogies. During the consideration of the toponymical code parallels with “War and Peace” are causing great interest.
