“He’s like a God’s storm”
Peter the Great in the A.S.Pushkin’s poem “Poltava”
Abstract. The article represents the experience of a comprehensive study of the images of Peter I and the Petrine era in the A.S.Pushkin’s poem “Poltava”. The theme is revealed in a broad historical and literary context. The focus is on ways of understanding Pushkin spiritual meaning of the battle of Poltava and activities of the Tzar-Converter. The author also discusses the problem of the deep continuity of the genius of Pushkin in relation to winning state to the genius of Peter the Great.

About the image of Boris Grigorievich in the “Storm” by A.N.Ostrovsky
Abstract. The article attempts at seeing the contradictory estimated character of Boris from the point of view of the human measure of A.N.Ostrovsky. The author considers Boris and Catherine to approach the moral ideal of the great playwright. The characteristics of both characters mostly depend on the peculiarities of the genre of a high tragedy that “The Storm” (“Groza”) represents.

About Charles Dickens
Аnnotation. The article is devoted to the creative activity of the great English novelist Charles Dickens. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of the cycle «Christmas stories». The problem of Russian-English literary relations is touched upon; the history of perception in Russia of the works of Dickens — a foreign writer, the most related in spirit Russian classics — is considered.

On the road to the poet. Evolution of perception of creativity and personality of А.S.Pushkin
Abstract. The article on the extensive bio-bibliographic material talks about the evolution of the perception of Pushkin’s creativity and personality. It is stressed that Pushkin, in addition to his work, went to the reader, primarily through the perception of literary men — contemporaries of Pushkin, writers of the Silver Age and the first half of the 20th century, Russian Pushkinists of the 19th and 20th centuries, Russian methodologists and language teachers. The fragments of the lesson, the literary contest and the collective creative work are given.

Abstract. In the material given the development of the lesson for the fragment of the poem as Pushkin’s “Poltava”. The battle of Poltava pred is provided as a celebration of the Russian spirit over the enemy, given the analysis of the image of Peter, commander, patriot. Much attention is paid to moral education of students. Improving the skills of analyzing works of art, fixed idea about the portrait, contrast, alliteration.
